Allow User to carry out monitoring for any staff member

Overview

This will allow the staff member to add monitoring for any staff member with an open review for the current review cycle without any access to the user's portfolio.

This change will only allow the user to see monitoring for the staff they carry out monitoring for or for the staff members they line manage

Instructions

This can be applied to either a group of users by altering the rights within the Standard User Rights group or for an individual by changing their rights via their account

See the action below to apply the changes you want to make.

Once the rights have been changed the user will have access to the My Reports->Monitoring screen

When they click the Add Monitoring at the top of the screen. that has a current review in the academic year

  • Clicking into the Staff field and then selecting the staff member required
  •  Clicking into the Form field will allow any form associated with the staff member Role to be selected
  • Fill in the Focus and date for the monitoring
  • Observer will default to the user adding the form if they are set as a classroom observer
  • Purpose can be set using the dropdown or left as not set

The form can then be either carried out now by clicking Run Now or save to run later by clicking Add.

NB: Run Now only appears if the user adding the monitoring is set as the observer

The Monitoring screen will only show the monitoring the user has either carried out or for staff they line manager.

 

 

Actions

Add the following user rights to the user account or to the Standard User RightS gGroup

Navigate to Settings, Staff, and then Standard User Rights.

Edit the rights group by clicking the edit pencil

Select the Settings Section

  • Add 'Access My Reports'

Select the Monitoring section

  • Add 'Access Lesson Monitoring Summary'
  • Add 'Add Lesson Monitoring for ALL Staff'
  • Add 'Access Monitoring Overview Grids'

To add this for a specific staff member only go to Users, Staff Members

Edit the staff member account by clicking the Edit Pencil and then find the rights dropdown.

Next to the dropdown click the edit pencil and click ok to the message

This screen will allow you to add additional rights specific to them and will display the rights already in their group (These can not be removed)

  • Add the rights shown in the previous action in the guide 
  • Click the  Save User Rights

NB: The change only applies to this staff member
